CAPS offers individual counseling, group counseling, couples counseling, and psychiatric consultation. Any kind of concern can be discussed confidentially with a counselor to enhance psychological growth and increase problem solving skills. Depression, anxiety, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, feelings of inadequacy, sexual issues, substance abuse and problems of academic functioning are some of the concerns students often address through counseling.

Our staff members are professional social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and supervised professionals in training. Their specialized training and experience prepares them to deal with a wide range of issues faced by university students.

Walk-In

A walk-in service is available weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those who require immediate care. You will be seen as promptly as is possible.

Groups

CAPS offers several groups during fall, spring and summer sessions.

Sexual Assault Crisis Service

The Sexual Assault Crisis Service is a comprehensive service which provides education, crisis intervention, and individual and group counseling to victims of sexual assault, and family and friends.

Concentration Difficulties

Many students come to CAPS with complaints of difficulty concentrating on their academic work. Although some may have Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, many have other problems that cause their difficulties. In order to help the student to the best of our abilities, we have established procedures to fully evaluate these problems.
