Counseling and Psychological Services Staff
CAPS prides itself on its well-trained staff with diverse interests and backgrounds. Staff members who have full state credentials as psychologists are indicated by the designation "HSPP" (Health Service Provider in Psychology). Social workers with full state credentials are indicated by the designation "LCSW" (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
Clinical Staff
Nancy J. Stockton, PhD, HSPP, Director, enjoys the variety of clinical and consulting activities afforded by the college mental health setting. Current theoretical interests include dialectical behavior therapy. She has extensive experience in working with eating disorders and more severe psychopathologies and has recently used group treatment for students adjusting to the onset of bipolar disorder during their college careers. Andrew J. Shea, PhD, HSPP, Interim Training Director and Coordinator of the Psychology Practicum, has a diverse background in counseling and psychotherapy, which includes experience in community mental health centers, hospitals, and college counseling centers. He is most influenced by psychodynamic and family systems theories. He has a great deal of interest and experience in couples' and group therapy. Chris Engle, MSSW, LCSW, came to CAPS after working Seventeen years in Community Mental Health in Southern Indiana. He has extensive experience working with addictions, chronic mental illness, and with families. Chris is trained in Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Group Therapy. Carolyn Lee, PhD, HSPP, Chief Psychologist, ABPP, specializes in stress management and the treatment of depression. She is the founder and former director of the Depression Treatment Clinic in Bloomington, IN. Dr. Lee was trained at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in the use of Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression, originally pioneered by G. Klerman. Dr. Lee is an experienced provider of individual, couples, child, and family therapy. Chris Ann Meno, PhD, HSPP, Coordinator of Outreach and Consultation, has worked primarily with university students for the past several years. She has a particular interest in graduate student and disordered eating/body image issues, as well as group counseling. Dr. Meno also enjoys educating college students about mental health topics through outreach presentations, and has taught several university courses including educational psychology, adult learning, and group psychotherapy. As a counselor, she draws from interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems therapies. In her free time, Dr. Meno enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Toth, PhD, HSPP, Coordinator for Evaluation and Research, has a diverse background in training and service in counseling and psychotherapy, which includes experience in community mental health centers, hospitals, and college counseling centers. Michael P. Wenzler, MD, Psychiatrist, is a board-eligible psychiatrist with extensive inpatient and outpatient consulting experience. Timothy Davis, PhD, HSPP, Groups Program Coordinator, has a diverse training background, which includes experiences in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings as well as college counseling centers. His therapy work is most influenced by Gestalt, interpersonal, and dynamic theories. He has taught many courses at the graduate and undergraduate level including group psychotherapy, psychological assessment, dream interpretation, and abnormal psychology.
