Video Counseling Services

CAPS is proud to offer Video Counseling services, where students can meet with a therapist from the comfort of home. Video Counseling is another way that CAPS aims to meet its student’s needs, reducing the stigma of accessing services, and removing potential barriers such as distance and discomfort. Online therapy has continued to be a growing trend and according to recent research, is just as effective for most presenting concerns and an acceptable alternative to face-to-face interventions. Students who are interested in web-based services will first need to come to the Health Center to complete a CAPS Now assessment to ensure this service best fits their needs. Students accessing this service will need to be physically located in Indiana, have access to audio/video technology (phone, tablet, computer), and a confidential space to conduct sessions.

Is Video Counseling right for me?

Convenient: No traveling to and from sessions, worrying about getting to class before/after, and conducted right from home.
Comfortable: Some find it more comfortable sharing private information when in the comfort of their own home. No having to come into the health center, which can feel like a barrier for some. Plus, you can attend in PJs!
