About Lucy
Lucy joins CAPS after working in community mental health, specializing in trauma-informed counseling services for children, adults, and families. She is a Bloomington native and received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to that, she worked as a resident advocate at Middle Way House in Bloomington, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
Lucy feels especially passionate about working with survivors of trauma and using the expressive arts (movement, drama, visual art, music, and writing) in order to support them in regaining power over their story. She is trained in EMDR and also enjoys using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques.
