About Emily
Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her MSW at Hunter College's School of Social Work at the City University of New York. She received a field of practice certificate in Global Social Work and Practice with Immigrants and Refugees and completed her clinical training at a VA outpatient mental health clinic and high school in New York City.
Emily enjoys working with students of all backgrounds as they navigate social, academic, and familial transitions and challenges. She caters her approach to best meet the needs of each client, but typically draws on relational, strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She aspires to create a warm and collaborative space where her clients can foster greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and coping mechanisms to live a more meaningful life on their terms.
Some of her interest areas include supporting international and refugee students, veterans, survivors of violence, and students preparing for or returning from study abroad.
Emily previously worked in the fields of international education and services of immigrants and refugees. She has studied and worked in Bangladesh, Germany, and India.
