About Kate
Kate integrates EMDR, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, and emotional regulation/mindfulness skills in a person-centered approach to treat post-traumatic stress, anxiety and depression, dissociative symptoms, heal attachment wounds, and help students strengthen a healthy sense of self.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Grace College and her Master's from Purdue University. Before coming to IU, she worked by turns in an addiction unit in Chicago, a safe house for survivors of sex trafficking, a community mental health center, a private arts-based therapy practice, and the university counseling center at Notre Dame.
She enjoys stand-up comedy, thrifting, throwing impromptu dance parties, and talking to her grandma, who is the model for her rapport-building skills.
