About Jonathan
Jonathan is a doctoral student in IU's Counseling Psychology program and joins Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) as a trainee for the 2024–25 academic year. He began training in 2022–23 at the Counseling and Wellness Clinic in IU's School of Education, doing individual therapy with IU students and the Bloomington community. He continued his training throughout 2023–24 providing mental health services at the IU Asian Culture Center.
Jonathan takes an integrative orientation to counseling, building on a foundation of person-centered therapy by incorporating principles and practices of cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal process approach. He also believes strongly in the benefits of group counseling and intends to gain experience with this modality during his time at CAPS.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys rock climbing, spending time with his friends, and caring for his elderly cat, Daisy.
